Learning Objectives:
- After an introduction to the French Revolution, students will be able to identify and describe the political, economic, religious, social, and intellectual causes of the French Revolution.
- After analyzing the events from French Revolution, students will be able to evaluate and discuss the repercussions for resisting, collaborating, or ignoring events during the French Revolution.
- After reading about key events and people of the French Revolution, students will compare and contrast people from both sides of the conflict and explain which people share commonalities.
- After learning about Napoleon Bonaparte, students will be able to analyze Napoleon's rise to power and describe how Napoleon established economic, social, legal, and religious order following the events of the French Revolution.
- After a lesson on Napoleon's legacy, students will identify and explain events that contributed to Napoleon's downfall and debate whether Napoleon was a hero or a tyrant.
