LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- After reading about Enlightenment thinkers, students will be able to analyze Enlightenment thinkers' ideas and describe the contributions they made to Enlightenment culture.
- After researching the Age of Reason, students will write a book on the key ideas and people that influenced the Age of Reason.
- After an introduction to the Enlightenment in America, students will be able to compare and contrast the American and French Revolutions and explain how enlightenment ideas influenced each revolution.
- After introducing students to the Enlightenment in America, they will be able to identify the Enlightenment's impact on America and explain how enlightenment ideas influenced the development of democracy in the United States.
- After researching scientists from the Scientific Revolution, students will write and perform a newscast that summarizes the scientific contributions and impacts their scientists had on society.
